When you Google 'architects near me' in Chennai, you should expect three things from a serious architecture firm. One: Council of Architecture (CoA) registration. Anyone calling themselves an architect in India needs CoA registration — without it they're a draftsman, regardless of how good their drawings are. Ask for the CoA number; verify on coa.gov.in.
Two: structural engineer affiliation. Architectural drawings need to be stamped by a registered structural engineer (RSE) before they can be submitted for CMDA/DTCP approval. The architect either has an in-house RSE or a regular external one. Without RSE stamping, your approval gets rejected. Ask for the structural engineer's name + license number.
